Nigeria’s presidency is currently facing a massive embezzlement scandal involving a ghost agency embedded within the 2026 fiscal budget. A total of ₦1.3 billion was earmarked for a non-existent body titled the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.”
According to presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the alleged kingpin, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who posed as the council’s Director-General, is now in custody.
Investigations revealed that Adeyemi had run a sophisticated fraud network from the Federal Secretariat for over twelve months, managing 34 fake bank accounts before his eventual arrest.
