In a statement shared with TechCabal, the company confirmed that an internal investigation has begun. Ezra Olubi has deactivated his X account and is yet to issue any public response to the claims.

According to Paystack:
“We are aware of the allegations concerning our Co-founder. We take issues like this with utmost seriousness. Ezra has been relieved of all duties while we conduct a formal investigation. To protect everyone involved and maintain the integrity of the process, we will not be providing further comments until the investigation is concluded.”

The situation has also prompted renewed scrutiny of old tweets posted by Olubi between 2009 and 2013, which featured sexually suggestive comments about colleagues, mentions of photographing a coworker’s thighs, and remarks involving minors and sexualised anime characters.
